Walking With Reptiles provides safe, hands‑on reptile encounters across Essex. Our experienced handlers bring snakes, lizards, tortoises and more to schools, parties, events and community groups, and you can also visit our Heybridge site at weekends for real, up‑close experiences.

Step into the world of reptile care with our hands‑on Keeper for a Day Experience. Learn how to handle, feed and care for a variety of reptiles in this exciting 3½‑hour behind‑the‑scenes session.

Directions

We’re located on Chigborough Road in Maldon (CM9 4RE), within the Chigborough Fisheries site. Easy access from the A12, A120 and A130. Follow signs for (Maldon) Heybridge and then Goldhanger — Chigborough Road is on the left.

Evan has a real understanding about all the reptiles and he answered all my questions with enthusiasm. My favourite animal was the bearded dragon named George, we got to see him eat a locust from Evans hand.  definitely an experience I wont forget.
